Can technology solve every problem of the modern B2B marketer? Maybe not, if you believe a recent survey sponsored by TechValidate and Spear Marketing Group. Asked to name the two primary barriers to demand generation success, B2B marketers named 1) lack of budget and 2) lack of resources.
Nonetheless, there are some interesting lessons to be drawn from the survey, which generated response from more than 200 marketing VPs, directors and managers. As the infographic below illustrates, there are still plenty of opportunities for marketers to improve demand generation ROI, even when those marketers are short on budget and headcount.
The survey results are yet more evidence that while marketing technology, properly deployed, can be a boon to both productivity and effectiveness, it’s the basics: strategy, creative, messaging, and good content, that ultimately are the primary contributors to demand generation success.
