Leading B2B agency says ABM, talent crunch are key factors in business growth.
Walnut Creek, Calif. – July 17, 2019.
Spear Marketing Group, a leading B2B demand generation agency, reported that its business surged in Q2, with the firm adding a record 12 new companies to its client roster. Among the firms choosing Spear were:
* Leadspace, a San Francisco-based B2B Customer Data Platform provider, who selected Spear to develop and execute two campaigns: a nurture program in Marketo designed to engage with and convert new sales leads, and an integrated, multi-channel campaign (including direct mail and sales outreach) to generate awareness at key target accounts.
* Vertafore, based in Denver, Colorado, delivers insurance software solutions for the insurance industry. The firm hired Spear to provide ongoing Marketo support, lead generation strategy, paid media consultation, ad creative, and content development.
* FortressIQ, the creator of a cognitive process intelligence platform that powers and accelerates digital transformation through AI, based in San Francisco. The company chose Spear to assist with demand generation, partner marketing strategy, lead nurturing and lead scoring implementation, content development, and ongoing campaign execution support.
“We’re an early stage startup with a small internal team and we needed an agency partner that could help us accelerate the demand generation process,” commented Beth Bourg, Senior Product Marketing Manager at FortressIQ. “I’d worked with Spear in a previous role and knew their experience with all aspects of marketing made them an ideal fit.”
Spear says that two factors are playing a large role in the agency’s recent growth: Account-Based Marketing (ABM) and the fact that companies are struggling to find and hire full-time marketing talent.
“Probably half the conversations we have with new clients currently are about ABM,” says Howard Sewell, Spear President. “We’ve now reached a point of maturity in the ABM market where companies are seeking out partners not to simply implement or manage technology, but to design, execute, and operationalize ABM programs.”
Sewell also credited the tight labor market as a key variable in the demand for the agency’s services, particularly in areas like marketing automation. “The plain fact is that demand for technical marketers is sky-high,” he commented. “Key positions are proving hard to fill, and so companies are forced to turn to third-party service providers like Spear to provide either interim help or fill a role for the long-term.”
Founded in 2009, Spear Marketing Group is headquartered in the Bay Area but maintains offices up and down the West Coast, servicing clients nationwide.
